The Roof Restaurant

Stars: 3 out of 5

Location:
15 E South Temple Salt Lake City, UT 84111

Atmosphere:
Awesome atmosphere, perfect for a romantic evening with your true love.

Food:
I used to love coming here for the atmosphere and the great food but the last two times I have come here the food, except for the Prime Rib and a dessert or two, has been comparable to the Golden Corral. Now I don't know if it is because of the market being down, or that the Roof is just trying to save money but the food is just average in taste. The rolls taste like they were made earlier that morning and the staff warms them up in the microwave for each guest as they arrive. The pasta entree that I tried tasted watered down and the noodles were barely warm. The salad was fine but I didn't pay $39.99 plus tax per plate to eat salad, prime rib and a dessert or two. To fill myself up I went back for the prime rib several times to just to fill satisfied.
I hope my next visit will be better, at least the atmosphere and my date made it enjoyable and memorable, and the view of the Salt Lake temple is outstanding.
Maybe next time I'll try to slip a chocolate strawberry in my pocket before I leave or maybe not.
